I thought I’d throw this out. I think I thought of it when I was tired… And I’m still tired… So I’d better get it out quick before I decide it’s too stupid!
See, his original examples never included the obvious and tempting consequences to one’s wish; it always went wrong in a simple, unexpected way that defeated the purpose of the wish and required no exterior circumstances.
But with our current shenanigans, people almost exclusively use consequences instead of the wish itself going wrong…
Get what I mean?
See if those first two example wishes were used in the game today, our crowd might’ve corrupted them this way:

I’m not sure I get the Wikipedia Translator one. Would it be a wiki set up where people can write any word translation (from a given language to another) that’s missing?
I was thinking more that since Wikipedia is already translated into a couple hundred languages, it wouldn't be necessary. But as I wrote it, I remembered that most of it isn't translated, so it was a bad idea... just forget about it

I don't think we should make a rule about it, because I, for one, am not creative enough to adhere to it all the time. But I promise to try to follow the guidelines more closely in the future.

Okay, thanks SangMing! It was just an idea for it to be a little more fun, so whoever doesn’t follow it isn’t doing any harm whatever. I suppose that means it obviously shouldn’t be a rule. But whoever wants a little extra fun for themselves has this as an option.
Sounds like Sudoku is a subject of vigorous discussion here
To Leela: I guess that sort of makes sense... Sudoku takes somewhat different(although not very different) logical mindsets than crosswords/logic puzzles.
To Mariel: Call it a wild stab in the dark, but I take it you like Sudoku?

I've seen cute wooden sudoku sets where you can put the info you've got in the puzzle in one color, then try to solve the enpty spaces with a different color. I'd love playing with the wooden pieces for about 10 minutes. Then I'd get frustrated, I think. I'd probably wing the cute little puzzle across the room, then have to clean it up myself.
Besides, I could never take up sudoku, because I can never remember how to spell it or say it. Is it o-u-o or u-o-u?
I'm losing my ability to work the logic problems, because I'm finding it more and more difficult to concentrate. I need silence and no interruptions. If I get interrupted, I have to erase everything and start all over. Needless to say, I rarely ever have that much sustained, uninterrupted time.

Wish Granted
(ref.)
It stops growing at half an inch. All the lawns are ugly.
I wish the tilt of the earth would rotate with its orbit so that it was always spring here.
God is leading me along a trail of miracles.
Wish Granted
But only after you’ve died and only your unappreciative grandchildren are left to see it.
I wish I had another USB hub.
God is leading me along a trail of miracles.
Wish Granted
It has only one port.
I wish I had a fluffy, friendly pet.
God is leading me along a trail of miracles.
Wish Granted
It’s a snowy owl. You’re arrested by animal rights activists.
I wish grass would stop growing less than six inches high (like fur) so that mowing was unnecessary.

God is leading me along a trail of miracles.
Wow ...
You are tired aren't you Qz?
Very Funny! One day corrupt a wish is gonna do that on accident cause we'll forget that we already corrupted a wish that way!
No more denying. Stop trying to hide from it.

Actually though, I tried to make these good examples of corruptions that I think follow the original spirit of the game better.

Solution
I propose we make a rule:
The corruption may not be a consequence of the wish or of the wish coming true.
If we don’t make a rule, I think at least those who want a little more fun should try to follow this!
God is leading me along a trail of miracles.

That's a good idea...
It's a lot funnier when it's simple and direct.
BTW, I especially like the one about the USB hub

gives me an idea...
I should make a parody website of useless electronics and software
For example:
The Wireless Router with a broadcast range of three feet!
The Pre-Finalized Blank CD Stack!
The No-Hassle Non-Updating Antivirus Program!
The Wikipedia Translator!
And I have to stop now, but I'll come up with more later
