4 guys played in a chess tournament. Based on their statements, answer the two questions.
Note: only one of them is lying. The other three are telling the truth.
Man #1: I was not able to win.
Man #2: I lost to Man #4, but i beat Man #3.
Man #3: I didn't finish last, by the way.
Man #4: Only Man #3 and Man #2 lost to me.
1. Which one of them is lying?
2. In what order did they place?
Note: yes, i realize this has nothing to do with Dragons.
Hmm...
I don't know how a chess tournament works. And because Foppy is secretly evil, he won't tell me. (Since he knows.)
Grrr...
*Whatever. I just won't participate.

Answer
Man#4 is lying. Why? We don't know. He actually beat everyone else in the tournament.
1st. Man#4
2nd. Man#2
3rd. Man#3
4th. Man#1

Ooh. Logic problems!
Hmm, now. Let's see.
Due to logical dependencies, Man #4 must be the liar.
So then the placing would be something like:
Man #1 - last place
Man #2 - second place
Man #3 - third place
Man #4 - first place
But, that's based on the assumpition that Man #2 beat #1 instead of not playing him. So, actually it's just a guess...

You know how to raspberry, don't you Steve? You just put your tongue out and blow.
Yes
I was actually going to ask, “Would #4 necessarily have had to play #1 at all, or is it possible that #1 got eliminated entirely by #2 and #3 before #4 had a chance at him?” Because if the latter was true, then #4 wasn’t necessarily lying.

Looks like this was fun.
I appreciate the ways you entertain us, Dragon. I'm sorry I can't participate in most of these games. This one would have been a lot of fun for me.
