I would very much like...
I would very much like to bring Malex and Icepunk back in one form or another, although precisely how to do that has thus far eluded me.
One of the problems is time. Writing is a very time-intensive medium to perfect.
Another problem has to do with our target audience. I know that we captured a good number of people who like to read, did read our stuff, and liked it very much. However, what we need to do for a future incarnation is find a medium which will reach a broader number of people without compromising the quality of the characters.
Unfortunately, John has thus far been unable to commit to the kind of work required to make headway on a new incarnation of Malex and Icepunk, and of course, as co-creator of the franchise, we cannot proceed without him.
I still have hope, and verbal support from you guys is very helpful in keeping the issue at the forefront of my problem-solving mind.

Target Audience
What if you wrote much, much shorter stories with bigger print and maybe more pictures? You could shoot for a little younger audience. But it wouldn't alienate the readers you already have.

Well...
We have trouble with producing illustrations of consistent quality without spending too much time on them.
I do have some specific ideas on what we could do, but it would take some work, committment, and time to implement.
The original incarnation of Malex and Icepunk was launched after little more than an hour of planning, weeks of goofing off, and untold gallons of name-brand caffiene.
Now, unfortunately, we have to approach the whole thing with fear and trepidation. See, not only do we have to keep track of all of the half-baked, near inane things that we wrote down and immediately forgot, but we've also got to avoid alienating our 'fans' or further stifling our own creativity.
The last thing I want to do is run the series into the ground by rushing into something stupid.
Keep us on our toes, and we'll keep working on it.

I thought we were trying to be more forgiving of each others' errors in spelling and grammar. Besides, if "Malex and Icepunk" was the title, then "Malex and Icepunk lives" would be correct. If you were referring to them as individuals, then yes, it should read, "Malex and Icepunk live" Try it this way: The Light and the Glory is a good book. The light and the glory are important aspects of heaven.See?

We have trouble with producing illustrations of consistent quality without spending too much time on them.
Okay. I suggest you go back to the original, more cartoony characatures that Quartz drew, and give him more creative control over the illustrations.
P.S. For some reason, I'm going simple over the spelling of the word 'characature'. This does not look right and I can't find it in the dictionary. Can anyone help me?

We could always try a straight-up comic book and/or graphic novel. It would probably grab far more attention that a pure-bred book.
Of course, this is coming from the guy who has six people living in his head and wears a gas-mask with an upper-respiratory infection, so my input is probably influenced by something outside of this reality.

After i read Malex and Icepunk i lent the book to a friend who will now not shut up about it! Ever since i let her read it i cant get through the day without hearing her make some comment about Gravity sucks or the portal to hell. But i put up with it cuz we are buddys!

Oh, and as for "Icepunk". Well... In the final analysis, there wasn't any good reason for that. Ultimately, it was just better than Arsenic. ("Arse" for short, of course.)
Over the years, we've come to terms with Icepunk's name, and it's even grown on us. If you stick around, perhaps it will grow on you too!
