Nomad II: Trapped was my second video game. Finally released in late 2003 after nearly two years of work, Nomad II contained 40 designed levels, 20 personalized save slots, a competitive scoring system, and a random level generation algorithm that could keep a player busy forever.
By this time, the entity that would eventually become the Malex Media Network was almost fully grown. As a team, we managed to put together a series of character sprites based on live action video, we managed to produce actual sound and music, and to top it all off, we managed to get runner-up in an amateur coding competition.
Don't let the lack of a Nomad I confuse you. This game is a sequal to a short story that I wrote during a time when I didn't know any better. (Actually, the game's story is pretty bad too...)
Nevertheless, this game was quite fun to make, and is equally enjoyable to play.
Have fun!

and HOW do you get it from the computer to your GBA?

Well...
To pull that off, you need a developer's cartridge. (Which I have.)
It's basically an empty, rewritable cartridge that you can put any game ROM on and play. I used mine pretty extensively during the development of this game.
For those who don't have / can't afford one, the game plays fine on most all GBA emulators.
If you don't have a GBA emulator, and you're running windows, you can try using the installer that I provided. It basically sets everything up for you so you can play it without any real hassle.

"Festering!" screamed the hen in reply.

Palmy
I've finally gotten the time to play OpenMAZE, now that it's on my Palm Pilot. Can I put Nomad II on there, too?

Eh, I doubt it...
The GBA is significantly harder to emulate than a GBC. I don't know of any GBA emulators for palm devices. Of course, I could be wrong... I suppose it might be worth a look.

It would make me really happy.

I recently saw a GameBoy Color emulator for iPod. I have no idea how the controls work, though...

Aww...
The link to the Windows Installer file is gone.
Oh well, I'm guessing it's not too hard to find an emulator. Just thought you might want to know.

Funny thing...
Malex actually noticed and pondered over that one for a bit earlier today.
Dunno if he’s gotten a chance to fix it yet.

Windows Installer and wine
If it was broken then mAlex must have fixed it. (Unless the problem is related to the round robin use of the file servers.) It downloaded fine for me using Firefox. I tested the installer image with Wine running on FC9 and it worked! This new version of Wine is much better then the last version I tested. I wonder how many of our old windows programs will now work under Wine?
Fixed
It should be fixed as of several hours ago today. Please let me know if it's not.

Hello there ^_^
Welcome to the site, Hilary.Moss!
I strongly encourage you to explore our Weekly features:
The Malex Minute - starring Malex, Fopsworth, Quartz and with current special guest Leela! (Other special guests as well)
These are posted every Friday.
Next on the list are the Contradictionaries! Thought up, drawn and written by Quartz (with the occasional humor from Foppy), these humorous cartoons give us an insight on what Timby's brain looks like! Hm... not much to see there... Also in the Contradictionary cartoons are crazy definitions.
The Contradictionaries appear magically around Wednesday.
Then we have the famous Splicky Missions! Quartz captures these little guys in a photo each week and lets us know what they're saying.
Splicky Missions are released on Monday, a great start to the week!
Aside from those hilarious productions, we have silly games and serious discussions on the forums.
Please remember to keep your language, behavior and sites you refer to clean and family-friendly. We don't want to offend anyone

You must never, ever feel silly or have regrets for doing what's right, Gnnb. What you did was friendly and nice. It's who you are, not who the recipient is that matters. And you are a nice girl!
