What happens when you wander too far off the beaten path?

Finally!

I only announced this short film three weeks ago, but it seems like an eternity to me. It took us 25 days from start to finish to complete this film, (including 10 days to render the CGI) and it's quite possibly the coolest thing our team has ever accomplished.

So go ahead and watch it, get excited because it's way more awesome than you expected, then put a copy on your iPod and share it with all your friends.

my name is nathan lundquist and i've recently been officially inducted to the mmn community. i'd first like to thank malex personally for such a prestigious honor (nate offers malex a plaque along with a handshake and they pose for several photographs before stepping off stage).

the video you see posted here is obviously entitled "this happened to a man." the reason is because this happened to a man. what happened to a man you might ask? well, watch the video. or you can just read on as i explain:

Here is Journeyman, an artsy, symbolic short film that Filman and I put together yesterday. It was mostly an experiment in a number of different areas, but it turned out so well!

There are two mistakes that we made and caught on tape which ended up in the final version... can you spot them?

Anyway, this is very different from our usual fare, but I hope you like it regardless.

Well, I told you everything that I wrote wasn't that bad. This is a rather light-hearted, sweet little poem that even the hardest person in the world will admit is, well, kinda purty.

If you are grossed out by prettiness, this poem is not for you. It involves dreaming, sleeping, and (gasp! horrors!) peacfulness. If you are allergic to such things, you may wish to put on one of those paper suits that nuclear scientists use and run away screaming like a little girl. Otherwise, enjoy.

Some people write about flowers and meadows. Others write about love, and others write about pain.

I'm one of those last few. The bulk of my writing is indeed very dark and very gothic, stuff about misery, pain, suffering, and other things in life that go terribly, terribly wrong. Am I crying out for help? Am I trying to show you only the rotten side of life as if it's the only side of life that there is? No. This is just the way I write. If you don't like it, then i'm sorry - it might be bleak, but it's very artistic and well composed. I'm sorry if you can't see that.

(note: my poems aren't that bad - they just aren't that good, either... you just gotta balance it out. Go have some ice cream and coke after you read this.)

This poem was first written as a short story. But a little modification turned it into a rather nice poem. It's a lament, with a sarcastic under-tone, for the blindness of man toward his own fallen nature.

Um... so what do I put here? Oh, yeah, meaningless blabber about my entry.

I wrote this late in 2004 as part of a poetry class - it's one of my better works, if I do say so myself. If you think this is any good, wait until I start posting my sonnets. Those'll make you cry a river (something Justin Timberlake could never make you do, no matter how much he begs).

Yeah, I absolutely love writing poems, and while I don't typically conform to any one style or the other like this piece was written to, it does work out very well. It was also very hard to write - trying to find the correct words to rhyme and putting them in the right place was a bit of a challenge. Anyways, this is about the end of my rant here, and I hope you enjoy this poem.
