Dungeon #3
This is a text based adventure game! Here's how it will work. You people are the adventures and I'm the gamemaster. You will run around in a text described world created by me; gathering treasure, solving puzzles, and outwitting the occasional bad guy. There will be a preset starting place that I will describe shortly. If you wish to play then you simply add a new comment with the subject as "starting to play" and you tell me in the body of that comment what you'd like to know where you'd like to go etc. I will keep track of everyone separately but you can interact with other players if your on the same space. Here goes nothing folks. There will probable be some kinks but we'll iron them out as we go!
PS. To those who have been playing please reply to the appropriate comments listed below.
Welcome to Fopsworth's first dungeon. You awake at the bottom of a short, grassy hill. To the north, up the hill, sits an imposing, brick manor. To the Northwest, up the hill, is the beginnings of a sprawling thorn bush. You think you can see a small path leading into it. To the west is a thick wood. To the south, southeast, and east is a worn dirt road that runs east and south.

You awake in the secret room with an aching head. You stand up and find yourself alone. All your belongings are scattered about on the table top. As you look around the room again you notice something odd about the tree trunk.

No. There are no drawers.
You take the key. It's very shiny and red.
If you mean to say that you examine the period then you find that it is actually a hole in the picture. A hole the size of a pin.
There is nothing under the bed or the rug.

To Aisling
The minotaur growls and charges you. You barely dodge and get knocked into the thorns as he passes. They pierce your skin. The wounds sting horrible and very soon after your vision starts to blur. The last thing you see, before your vision goes black and you fall unconscious, is the minotaur looming over you and smiling.

To Leela
Sadly, you are not in the same room. You are standing in the sitting room. The floor is a reddish pink patterned carpet and the walls are a pure white. There are doors to the north, west, south, and east. There four armchairs and two sofas of a lemon yellow here. Beside the door to the north is a strange contraption. Other than that there is nothing else in the room.
The door to the north is locked.

It isn't the thorn maze but... You are in a passageway through the mountain underbrush. There are passageways to the west and to the east. Snow is sprinkled lightly all around.

To The Royal Shortness
You are standing in front of a massive, dense thorn bush. The thorns are very large and look potentially deadly. A small passageway runs northwest into the thorn bush. To the south is a dense wood. To the southeast is the base of the hill. To the east is the front door of the Manor. You hear faint roaring coming from within the thornbush.

To Slushpunk
You are standing at the bottom of a hill. To the north, up the hill, sits an imposing, brick manor. To the Northwest, up the hill, is the beginnings of a sprawling thorn bush. You think you can see a small path leading into it. To the west is a thick wood. To the south, southeast, and east is a worn dirt road that runs east and south. The Royal Shortness can be seen standing to the northwest.

You are up on an expansive balcony. The floor is tiled marble and the walls are goldish white. There are two doors to the north, a door to the west, and a door to the east. Spiders are starting to make their homes on you.

The tree trunk seems to have a square seam and as you look closer you realize that there is a ring handle.

Would you be my partner? And, if you do want to help me, in other words: be my partner. I'll help you." I wave the sewing needle in front of him.

You tug on the ring and a section of the tree trunk swings outwards. You are looking into a small, closet-like space hollowed out of the trunk.

You come to slowly, your head aching. You sit up and look around. You are sitting on a raised slab of rock in a small, torch lit cave. There is a wall of bars to the south with a door in it that is closed.

The door opens with a click and Quartz steps out.

DragonManJ13 meeting minotaurs
You are in a passageway through the mountain underbrush. There are passageways to the west and to the east. Snow is sprinkled lightly all around. The Minotaur walks past looking ominous and carrying Aisling, who is unconscious. He didn't appear to notice you. A few minutes later he walks past again, without Aisling, this time going the opposite direction.

I fly!
I walk in calling Quartz to follow. (I hold the door open until he comes in, unless he isn't coming in.) Then I take a cane, And I look to see if the red key can come back. If so then I take it too. Last, but not least, I examine the picture on the Northern wall.

You head south. You are in dense, dark woods. The only pathways you can possible fit through are to the west, southwest, and east. There is light coming in from the east.

You are standing in front of a massive, dense thorn bush. The thorns are very large and look potentially deadly. A small passageway runs northwest into the thorn bush. To the south is a dense wood. To the southeast is the base of the hill. To the east is the front door of the Manor. The Royal Shortness is not here. You see her just slipping into the trees to the south.

You are standing in the master bedroom. It is a massive room with a light brown wood floor and sky blue walls. The only door is to the south. The ceiling slopes upwards and in the middle hangs a very elaborate chandelier. Also in the middle of the room is a sprawling, four-poster bed. Taking up almost all of the north wall is a large painting. Against the west wall is a beautiful light brown vanity with a large mirror. Right beside the door to the south is a cane stand with several canes in it. Against the east wall is a bookshelf.

You are standing in an extremely large room hewn from the rock. There are six doors leading into cells. Three to the south and three to the north. There are tunnels leading off to the northwest, west, southwest, and east. There seems to be light shining in from the tunnel to the east.

You take a cane. It's long and black with a brass handle. It has a good heft to it.
You take the red key. It's very shiny and red.
You look at the painting. It is depicting the view from between the branches of a tree on a mountain. There is a bird sitting among the branches. An inscription at the bottom reads: "The one who holds the silver key will unlock the mystery." The period at the end of the inscription is a bit odd...

You are standing in an extremely large room hewn from the rock. There are six doors leading into cells. Three to the south and three to the north. There are tunnels leading off to the northwest, west, southwest, and east. There seems to be light shining in from the tunnel to the east. Aisling is standing here peering into the different cells.

All but the top left and middle northern cell doors are locked. The locks all look similar though. In side the right southern one and the right northern one you see something lying on the ground.

I pull out my flashlight and turn it on, if the batteries are dead I change them.

The flashlight comes on without any problems.
You press the button and there is a grinding clang. The button lights up and the floor you are standing on begins to descend slowly into the darkness. After a while you wonder how long it will take before it stops.
Suddenly a green light comes drifting into view and when it reaches shoulder hight the floor comes to a clanging halt. There is a door to the west now.

It does not fit.

You take the long wooden handled hatchet. The head looks very sharp but the handle is a different story. I doubt it will take a very strong blow.
You head southeast then southwest. You are standing in a small guard. There is a passageway to the northeast. There is a stool here. On the stool sits a ring of keys. On the floor by the stool sits a lantern and a box of matches.

Strangely enough the screwdriver is back. Its a medium sized flat head.
You fit the needle in almost all the way into the hole. There is a loud clang that reverberates around the room. Something suddenly seems different about the room.

Lilly standing for weeks
You are standing in what appears to be a reception area. The floor is a plain dark tile and the walls are a cream color. There are doors to the west and to the east. To the north there is a passageway that leads of into the gloom. There is a counter in the western wall. There are five chairs and two end tables positioned in a square about the room. Everything here is covered in dust.
Since your going to be here awhile you dust off one of the chairs and sit down.
