Of course, I'll watch the movie. I have to. Star Trek and I go too far back to miss this movie, I guess. But I'm not really excited about it. For me, Star Trek was the personalities and interactions between characters. (Contrived and hokey as they are) But to recast and reinterpret the whole thing with a modern flavor will not, I think, add anything. Although it's set in the future, Star Trek was made in the 60's and without that feel, how can it be Star Trek? How, for instance, would it be explainable if James Kirk is more open-minded about the role of women while he's at the Academy than he was later in life as a captain?
