OK, comic books and graphic novels are the hot trend right now. That being said, Moments With Majesty sells them. For those of you who enjoy this form of media, but don't like taking risks on new material because of what the content is likely to be, come to the Christian Bookstore and get perfectly good comic books and graphic novels that are safe to read. The selections are somewhat limited at present, but as sales increase, so will demand, and as demand increases, so will selection.

Anxiety attacks so funny they make anxiety go away
Submitted by Phoenyx on Sun, 2007/01/14 - 5:12pm.
So, I no longer work at the chiropracter's office, but whilst I was still under his employ, I had an unusual anxiety attack (if it can actually be called and "attack").
It was Tuesday night, and I went to bed at about midnight. I had to get up around 6:30 for work, and I set my alarm clock, then I set my cell phone to go off a few minuted later, just in case.
I woke up, and I looked at my alarm clock, and I became furious because it hadn't gone off. I was so angry, I had to restrain myself from throwing my clothes around the room and stomping around while I was getting ready, because everyone else was still asleep. I got dressed, grabbed my cell phone so I could watch the time, went into the bathroom, brushed my teeth, put on my makeup, and was pleasantly surprised that my hair was in a halfway decent state, and didn't require a lot of work.
The Return of Agent Frost...
Submitted by Phoenyx on Fri, 2006/12/29 - 12:59pm.
I have made an unsteady alliance with the diminuitive Agent Frost, whose unexpected return prompted me to head off any possible retaliation the vengeful Agent might have had planned for the Malex Media Network.
Retaliation against what? Who knows? Is it possible to ever know the mind of such a dastardly beast as Agent Frost is known to be? Since her sudden disappearance around the same time as the website was moved to the new server, I have been relentlessly and unsuccessfully trying to locate and placate the bloodthirsty Agent. My search, however was not entirely in vain. She learned of my movements (or perhaps knew of them all along) and returned to my abode with an offer I couldn't refuse...
New Job
Submitted by Phoenyx on Thu, 2006/12/28 - 1:12pm.
I was actually going to write about this on my first day. I'm about to go to work for the third day, so obviously, I missed that. I'm liking the new job so far, the best part being that I get to work with my good friend Carma, and I get free massages and chiropractic care (Did I forget to mention that my new job is as a receptionist in a chiropracter's office?).
It's a fairly simple job, so far. They haven't yet started training me for the job they actually hired me for, which is billing and working with the insurance companies and such.
I got more gifts for Christmas. 3 of my closest friends and I had our gift exchange last night, and I got a cute t-shirt and a scarf, two lovely new books, an incense set, and a couple of dvds, the one I'm most excited about being Shadowlands (story of C.S. Lewis and his wife Joy, as they walked through her illness and finally, her death). I never actually knew that there were two different productions of this film. The only one I knew about was the one with Joss Ackland, but the one I got for Christmas is a version with Anthony Hopkins (I really like him) as Lewis. So, it should be interesting.
Jesus gets all the old bags???
Submitted by Phoenyx on Mon, 2006/12/25 - 9:22pm.
OK, OK, please don't wig out at the title. This was actually a horrible dislexic moment I experienced the other day.
See, I got pulled into a shift at my old job at the Christian Bookstore. They were short on good workers on the busiest day of the year, so I went to help out.
Let me start by saying that I was tired, which was why I was on my way to the pop machine in the other room when I passed the display. Now, This display of gift bags had a sign on top, and on one side of the sign it said "Jesus gave it all" or something similar, and the other side simply said "gift bags".
For whatever reason, I glanced at the sign out of the corner of my eye as I walked by, a little too fast to see it properly.
new book review
Submitted by Phoenyx on Sat, 2006/06/03 - 10:15am.
I have just read a fantastic book called "Beauty" by Robin McKinley. I must to tell you, I was entranced. This is her retelling of "Beauty and the Beast," with some interesting differences.
Beauty isn't actually this gorgeous misfit. She more like the mis-named misfit. "Beauty" is the unfortunate nickname that a rather plain bookworm got stuck with early in life. Her father is a merchant who loses all of his fortunes when nearly half of his ships come to disaster at sea. The family moves to a small village that is plagued with old legends of the haunted forest and the terrible beast within a hidden castle.
Since my last post obviously went over so well...

Oh, well, if I'm the only one who cares about books, so be it.
I need movie buddies!
I haven't been to the movies in ages, I have no one to go with me anymore, at least none who can go on a regular basis. It's very depressing. I'm supposed to go see X-Men III this afternoon, but when I called the girls with movie times, one said that she might not go, but she just won't know until later. OK, I guess I can't blame her, she wasn't feeling well yesterday, but if one doesn't go, the rest will drop out after.
Treasures and Half-Price bookstore
Submitted by Phoenyx on Fri, 2006/05/26 - 11:51am.
Is it just me, or is Half-Price books one of the greatest store in the world? In the last week, I've picked up beautiful old copies of Bulfinch's Mythology, the Arabian Nights, the Iliad and the Oddessy (and those four books are part of what once was an enourmous set of classics, but the store only had a few of them), Grimms Fairytails, a hardcover copy (in perfect condition) of The Giver (for no other reason than that I've read it so many times my paperback copy is literally falling apart), copies of the first two in the LOTR trilogy with cover art by Alan Lee (still hunting for a copy of the third one in the same set), and the prize of my collection, a copy of the Silmarillion (because once again my paperback is falling apart) in hardcover filled with pictures by Ted Nasmith, it's absolutely beautiful, and in 100% perfect condition, it's got a foldout full-color map of Beleriand in the back, and the best part is, I got it cheap. Now, if I could just be as fortunate as my friend Anna who found a first edition copy of the Silmarillion at Half-Price Books for $3!!! Someone obviously had no clue what they were putting out on the shelf.
I keep trying to decide...
Submitted by Phoenyx on Wed, 2006/05/03 - 7:06pm.
...whether or not I have anything interesting to blog about. Then I read Icepunk's blogs and I realize that it doesn't matter whether or not I have anything interesting to blog about.
For those of you that might take offence at that, I'm not trying to pick a fight, it's just a fact. When was the last time Ice wrote about anything that made sense?
Moving right along...
So I think I might be over my writers block. Today I sat at the computer and churned out about a chapters worth of material in one of my books (the one I've been working on since I was 12 that I maight actually have done by my birthday), and it's been very well recieved by those I have allowed to read it. I may even let some of you read it. I think I can trust you to not gank my material.
Promising new book series, and a call to urgent prayer
Submitted by Phoenyx on Mon, 2006/05/01 - 2:58pm.
The series itself has no name I am aware of, but book one is called "His Majesty's Dragon." It takes place during the Napoleonic wars, with most of the details of the war the same, except with Dragons. Several countries have their own Aeriel Corps of Dragon Riders, and this story centers around a Navy captain Laurence who stumbles upon a rare Chinese Dragon right before it hatches. The Dragon, Temeraire, chooses him, and the adventures begin with their training, and everyone discovering just how unusual and exceptional Temeraire is...
I'm only halfway through it at this point, but so far, I'm enjoying so very much, and I really hope my friend hurries with the sequal because I'll be ready for it by tomorrow.
