6 more weeks to go!
Yo. Our company got in trouble last week, so I didn't get to go on pass and blog.
Last week we took our Phase 4 PT test, and I rocked it. I did 50 pushups, 60 situps, and a 13:30 2 mile run. I love running, I run in Alpha group now - the most elite running group. Twice a week we go running and run 6 or 7 miles at an amost sprinting pace. It's crazy, we come back soaked in sweat and wheezing. I could have done at least 75 pushups and over a 100 situps, because that's how many I do when I work out on my own, but we only had 2 minutes to do them in. ![]()
This week has been amazingly fun. I got to drive an actual patrol car all around the post and respond to Drill Sergeant supervised scenarios like domestic distubances and DUIs. I had a belt with handcuffs, a pistol, a baton, and a radio, and I had an MP brazer on my shoulder and I was wearing my beret, so I looked like a real MP!
My partner, Chambers, and I just drove around for about 3 hours (with her constantly critiquing my driving - "slow down!" or "you didn't use your turn signal") listening to music and waiting for dispatch to call our unit. Eventually, we got to respond to a DUI at the bowling alley. I pulled up behind him while Chambers called it in, and then we got out and did everything right, until we got his ID and started walking back to our cruiser so we could find out if he had any outstanding warrants, when he started up his car and tried to drive away!
Obviously, we pulled him out of his car and "apprehended" him (MPs don't arrest anyone, we either "apprehend" or "detain").
Next, we responded to an AWOL ("Away Without Leave"). We frisked the guy and found a weapon, but before we cuffed him, he pulled another weapon and shot my partner and then me. We learned a hard lesson from that scenario.
Then, yesterday, we did the EVOC course, where we learned evasive driving techniques - we basically had to learn how to drive 70 mph around a curve through cones and not crash.
All next week we're doing scenarios. I can't wait! I love this job. The paperwork is honestly the hardest part, especially if you don't take good notes. ![]()

Wait... did you say you and your partner got shot?
I'm kinda confused. but that actually all sounds pretty fun! I still don't like the idea ofpolice work, but it sounds like you like it! And its always good to have people who like their job.
