this is not exciting but you should read it anyway don't you think?

i really really love yogurt. i try my best to ration little cups of it each day. but it's hard. yesterday morning i cut up some peaches and sauted them in a pan with some butter. then i put them in a wheat pita and toasted the pita in the pan with the butter the peaches didn't absorb, and from there i mashed up the peaches and the pita into a bowl and poured black berry yogurt all over it. it tasted horrible. actually that's not true.

so now i am at the point of telling you what i eat. in most cases that would mean i was out of interesting things to tell you so i resort to the details. however, that is not that case, i just really wanted to tell you about my peach, pita, yogurt breakfast. it was super good.

recently we've been hoping for some important people to agree to interview with us. and so far we have already had a couple of the guys agree to do it. i tell you this so vaguely because i am not sure if it's going to pan out, though it is quite probable that it will. so really it's just a waiting game to see what we are doing next, and in the mean time i have been editing a ton of footage of the kohen-levi international conference. which if i haven't told you before, it's the gathering of the DNA tested descendants of aaron of kohen, the tribe of levi, the appointed priests of the temple. and this conference was getting them all together and training them on how to carry out their priestly duties when the third temple is built. it's very interesting to say the least.

other than that i just recently bought a mic for recording and have been laying down a few songs i've had written for a while now. i've also been experimenting using synth drums because i am at a loss of a real drum set. oh how i miss playing a drum set. and for that matter playing an electric guitar, i miss musical power basically, very loud sounds are fun for me. but keep a look out, i'll be posting some new music online shortly.

today we also helped joel and his family move into their new apartment. it's an awesome place and i can't wait until our lease is up so we can move in with them. the room that dave and i are going to share has a solid metal door and it echoes in there like a mother. it's basically built as a bomb shelter in case war breaks out. mommy, i get the bomb shelter room, don't worry.

so we sat and put together chairs and tables and bed frames for a good long time. and then went over to their old apartment and ate dominos pizza and oreo ice cream and then went back to finish making chairs and lamp stands. it was good mindless, away from the computer work.

so, that's all i've got. this blog entry sucked. sorry about that. shalom for now. i'll have sweet stuff in the future, especially if we start on this new project i am hoping for. love to you.

Interesting

This sounds really interesting to me. Please excuse my ignorance, but who was Aaron of Kohen?

Gee, Dominos Pizza and Oreos ice cream. All the comforts of home. :-)

I'm looking forward to hearing some of your music. I got a DVD this weekend called DNA vs. The Book of Mormon. It's produced by Living Hope Ministries. Did you have anything to do with it? I haven't watched it yet, but it looks very interesting.

Question.

When and how was the second temple destroyed?

Actually, that does sound good! :D I'm always the sort to experiment with food... Recently, I've been putting everything on tortillas.

How do they have a sample of his DNA?

I couldn't find Aaron of Kohen on Wiki, so I tried to google it. But this thread is the only thing that came up! :-P

Whoa, really?

Here's what I came up with, along with these two Wiki articles. You must've been putting quotation marks around the phrase.

here

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kohen

the kohen refer to aaron as aaron of kohen. like aaron of the priests, or the sons of aaron. they track the lineages from aaron described in the torah along with mutations in the Y chromosome that they call markers, which indicate different time periods in the life of the Y chromosome. and finally they tested a ton of the jews who had the last name kohen, [or cohen, it's translated both ways] and about 98% [or something in that high percentage range] of the jews with the last name cohen, all had that same Y chromosome. so it's through a lot of different angles that they get to the conclusion as to what the Y chromosome of aaron is, and i don't understand it all but they are sure that they are his blood descendants. not to mention there are prophesies that say how the line of aaron will be an everlasting line, along with the blood line of david, which they are looking for next. so when someone claims they are the messiah that the jews are looking for, they can DNA test him to see if he is in the line of david, once they know what the Y chromosome of david is.

*lol*

"so when someone claims they are the messiah that the jews are looking for, they can DNA test him to see if he is in the line of david ..." -HonkeyDorey

This struck me funny somehow, just as a concept all by itself. XD It's really cool, and sounds pretty reliable, but it's still funny in the context of today's society...

Fascinating!

Heh heh...

Yeah, but, they knew very well that Jesus was of the line of David (without a DNA test) and they still didn't acknowledge him as the Messiah.

One phrase. Three simple words.

Jesus - A real person

Is - Present tense; living

God - The embodiment of the Sovereign

Yes...

It does all seem kind of pointless since the Messiah has already come, doesn't it? :D

Although, I don't think God would condemn a person in that situation if there wasn't just a smidgen of hint of denial and rebellion deep down in their heart, do you? :-\

I dunno...

a bit off topic

What QZ posted reminded me of a question I always had...

Like, with the African (and other places) cultures that havent yet been told the gospel, and no missionary has ever been there (so they are cut off from the rest of the world), and if they worshiped a god (lets just say its only _one_ god), but if they're never told otherwise about Christ and the Gospel, would God deny their entrance into heaven if they never even was given the chance to hear about it?

(yeah this is a semi-deep question but ive been wondering about it for a while... So I'd like to here what you all think on the topic...)

Here we go

I heard this from my bible teacher; it's cool ...

One time, these missionaries went to evangelise to a very remote tribe (either in Africa or on a island somewhere). The lived there for a very long time, learning their language and gaining their trust. A year or two later, they started evangelising. Of course they started by asking what the people's native god(s) was. The people then proceeded to tell the missionaries the gospel story:

A great god saw that the people were doing wrong and it was hurting them, and him too for he loved them. So he sent his son to teach them what was right. However, they didn't want to listen and them executed him by nailing him to a tree. But, the son was also part of the god, so he didn't stay dead. Now he lives with his father and the people wanted to live with them, too. The only thing they didn't know was the name of the god and his son. This information, the missionaries gladly supplied. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

"... would God deny their entrance into heaven if they never even was given the chance to hear about [Him]?" --Go Fly Girl

Yes. Absolutely.

Think about that verse for a moment. Paul writes kinda backward, but the general idea is this: All of God's attributes, even his everlasting power and divinity, are clearly seen (perceived) through the things that are made, so nobody has any excuse.

The bottom line is this: Yes, it's terrible when we fall down on the job and fail to spread the gospel. However, all people are confronted with the fact of God every day, and if any one of them seeks Him, He will reveal Himself to them.

Read more of Romans 1 if you're interested in the topic.

BTW, let me know if you have any more of these "semi-deep questions"... Perhaps we can save you the trouble of wondering. :-P

Yeah

That's a very good question, GFG. But I believe Malex is answering it as I compose this comment, so I'll leave it alone. :)

I just wondered in my earlier comment if it was different for the situation SangMing described. You see, Jews believe in the one true God, at least in principal as I understand it. They believe the Sciptures about the coming Messiah. And if, like SangMing described, one of them was truly searching in their heart for the truth, I believe they'd find Jesus.

So I guess my original comment was badly thought out; my point is that I don't think SangMing's scenerio is necessarily realistic. If the person was searching like that, they'd have to at some point reject the idea of Jesus in order to die never having known Him.

Deep questions

I think it's very hard to be Jewish and not reject Jesus. You will hear about him. You may reject him without hearing much about him, but you will know that he exists as an option.

It's a harder question with those who have never heard of him. The Romans 1:20 passage does not, I think, make that very clear. I mean, the existence of God is evident from creation, but the existence of Jesus and the fact of his substitutionary death is not.

Faith

That's the thing. I believe in my heart that God will reveal himself to anyone who seeks him out. That includes people who would have no clear exposure to the Gospel.
