Malex™ - Structures is now frozen, and in the process of being released!

Ladies and Gentlemen, this announcement has been a long time coming. I have been working on Structures since May 2005 (immediately after the release of Scanned) and now, after approximately 1.5 years of work, I am officially announcing Structures as "frozen".

This term - "frozen" - is a term that I have borrowed from software development. It simply means that no further additions or major alterations are to be made to the final content or structure of the project. I am currently listening to an essentially complete version of my new album.

There is still a lot of work to be done: I need to finalize the mixing and mastering of every track. I need to finish the liner notes and cover art/layout. Obviously, we need to place orders with the appropriate companies, and we need to manufacture the disks themselves.

However, the light at the end of the tunnel is clearly visable, and it looks like we are on-schedule for a mid-November ship date.

The music itself is - as always - composed entirely by myself. Styles range from Trance to Drum & Bass to Piano Solos and other experimental-sounding interludes. There are 20 tracks on the final cut of the album. Total runtime is right around 79 minutes. Approximately 75% of the album (1 hour) is "dancy" (Trance, D&B) with the remaining 25% being mostly melodic (orchestral, experimental, etc).

Pricing and distribution will be about what you have come to expect from the Malex Media Network™. The CD will sell for $12 at our online store here. MP3 copies of tracks from MalexMedia.Net™ will go for $0.80 each or $10 for the whole album.

As soon as the manufacturing process begins, the MalexMedia.Net™ Store will begin holding an exclusive $10 pre-order sale for Structures. (So if you want a physical copy, that'll be the cheapest way to get it!)

Other places to buy the music will include CDBaby and various Christian music retailers on the net. iTunes will carry the CD eventually, although they tend to drag their feet considerably when putting stuff up.

So there will be a goodly number of ways to get physical and digital copies of the album, although I will always recommend physical over digital for a number of reasons.

We will want to distribute Structures in as many different places as we possibly can, so if you don't see it in your favorite music store, pester them to contact the Malex Media Network™ about getting Structures into their catalog! (Most of our distribution actually happens this way, so your calls and emails really do matter.)

Unlike our previous releases, we actually have a limited advertising budget for this one, so if you have any ideas of good places to (cheaply) advertise, please let me know.

I truly believe that this album can be thoroughly enjoyed by practically everyone, so if you have friends who have never heard my music, this would be the album to use to introduce them to it.
